Our gardens and grounds extend over 8 acres (3.25 hectares), on mostly sloping ground between a wooded hillside and the River Glaven. Much of the upper part of the site is occupied by the gardens, as well as the café, tea-garden and plant nursery. The lower slopes are taken up with an area of meadows that become increasingly wet as you move down the slope. At the very bottom of the valley the ground can be very wet - almost permenently waterlogged, and some of this is occupied by a small patch of wet woodland. We manage the woods and meadows as a reserve, aiming to encourage the greatest variety of plants and animals possible in such as small area. Follow the links to explore the reserve and its wildlife.
